This extinct volcano is located in the Avenue of the Volcanoes, south of Quito. On the east side of this volcano you can find many crops spots, while the west side the mountain is covered by the cloud forest. The mountain takes the name of Corazón (Heart) because, if you see the peak from the west side, its shape resembles a heart.
Climbing this mountain demands about 6 hours to reach the summit, so it is important to be prepared for this altitude. No doubt this is the perfect excursion for those who are newbies in this altitude, and very recommended to the ones that are starting an acclimatization program.
